Bankroll Management

The most important skill for any gambler. Set budgets, manage your bankroll, and avoid the common traps.

Set a Budget Before You Play

This is rule number one. Before you open any casino, decide exactly how much you're willing to spend and treat that as entertainment money, not an investment. The money you deposit should be money you're completely fine with losing. If losing it would affect your rent, groceries, or bills, you shouldn't be gambling with it. Period.

The Session Approach

Break your monthly budget into sessions. If your budget is 200/month and you play 4 times, that's 50 per session. When that session budget is gone, stop. Don't reload, don't chase losses, don't tell yourself 'one more deposit.' Having a clear session limit removes the emotional decision-making that leads to overspending.

Bet Sizing

A common rule is to never bet more than 1-2% of your session bankroll per spin. If your session budget is 50, that means 0.50-1.00 per spin. This gives you enough spins to actually hit something. Betting too high relative to your bankroll means you might bust before the slot has a chance to pay. On high volatility slots, consider going even lower, like 0.5% of your bankroll, because dry spells can be long.

Take Profits

If you hit a big win, take some of it out. A simple strategy: if you double your deposit, withdraw the original amount and play with the profit. This way you can never walk away with less than you started. It takes discipline, but it's the difference between players who consistently enjoy gambling and those who always end up frustrated.

Common Traps to Avoid

Chasing losses is the number one bankroll killer. You lost 50 so you deposit another 50 to 'win it back', and usually lose that too. Bonus buying with your last funds is another trap. Bonus buys are expensive and volatile, so only use them when you have plenty of bankroll to spare. Finally, avoid increasing your bet size when you're losing. If anything, lower it to extend your session.
